Digitizing a Non-Profit’s Entire History, From Handwritten Books to the Web
Bishranti Ashram is a non-profit in Nepal, and everything about their records was traditionally handwritten. Donation records, donor lists, archives, all of it lived in physical books. Metapillar helped them move their entire history into the digital world.
The Challenge
Bishranti Ashram needed to track down every donation they had, and all of it existed only on paper. Donors had moved to different countries and cities, and there was no digital way for anyone to view or manage records. Their cremation center’s records were also handwritten, kept in books with no digital access.
What We Built
We helped Bishranti Ashram build digital storage for their data and handled the full data transformation, moving handwritten records into a structured digital system. Now donors, wherever they are in the world, can view their data. We also digitized the cremation center’s records, making them publicly available on their website. On top of that, we helped them build a real digital presence.
The Outcome
Every donation is now tracked and searchable. Donors around the world can access their records. The cremation archives, once locked in handwritten books, are publicly available online. A decades-long paper history is now a living digital resource.
